The Simple Life

I came across this and thought about the daily conversations surrounding Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Blacks, Whites, and everything else that makes us “different”. What you are about to read is the word of God. I pray that you receive the revelation that I did and why the Bible tells us to live”simple lives”(1 Thessalonians 4:11). We have to be alert as God tells us and be aware of the enemy and all of his tactics. His motive is to encourage division. We must understand why engaging in unproductive conversations does nothing to promote the message of God.The message of love, kindness and peace.

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned. Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives. Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

Find the Courage| Day 10

Be alert and on your guard, stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
~1 Corinthians 16:13

Even though I feel as though I am closer to Christ than ever before, I must be honest and say that some days are better than others. I have these fantastic moments when my soul screams YES! Yes because I can feel the Holy Spirit move through me, the joy that is Christ begins to overflow, and I am flying. I am overwhelmed with a sensation that can only be described by the act of allowing God to move in your life. There are no words to describe the evolution that is the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It’s in that moment that one realizes that there is nothing else like the love of God. A love that will send every natural sense that your body possesses into overload. An immense pleasure that you continuously chase after through prayer, scripture, and acts. Those are my good days; those are the BEST days. I must share with you the days when I hunger for the former. In those moments I am weak. I am thirsty. I am planted in what seems a permanent soil of pain, and I am not sure how I got there. I am depleted, but He says, “You are my handiwork, “and in that moment I am reminded of God’s power. I am able to recognize the adversary’s agenda and my purpose becomes clear that it cannot win, it will not win, and the
Bible says it did not win. So I focus on my God, my King, and my Savior Jesus Christ. I began to sup from him and He sustains me. In my heart I can feel Him saying, “I am here my child stay with me” and I become alert. Immediately on guard taking inventory of my surroundings and I look towards the hills from which comes my help and there, a revelation that there is a ram in the bush. Once again my senses become aware of the faith which uproots me from the quicksand of what seemed like defeat. Then it begins, a vicious struggle of tug of war, but I am brave because He is my strength. Finally breaking free from the chains, I am taken back. For it was not I who pulled me through the fire, but it was Yahweh, Abba Father, and the victory is an account of His presence through it all. In every battle be alert, on guard, have faith, and be strong. Find your way because His blood assures us all that through faith, courage is there.

-If you are looking for courage in the middle of your storm, look no further than the word of God. I want you to get five post-it notes and write 1 of the following verses on each post it: 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 Peter 5:7, John 16:33, Psalms 37:5 and Isaiah 41:10. Tape them on your wall, bathroom mirror or at work at your desk. Put them someplace where you can see it every single day. Allow this to be a daily reminder of God’s promise of courage to you in every single circumstance.
